Is Notta free? What the free plan really includes
Notta's Free card says "For individuals just getting started with Notta," $0, "No credit card required," then: 1 seat, 120 transcription minutes a month, up to 3 minutes per conversation, 50 file uploads a month and 10 AI summaries a month. The comparison table lower on the page adds the detail that matters:
- 3 minutes per recording. The table's "Max transcription per recording" row reads 3 minutes for Free and 5 hours for every paid plan. The 120 monthly minutes are spread across conversations that each stop at 3.
- No carryover. The transcription quota row is labelled "no carryover."
- 10 AI summaries a month, 3 custom vocabulary terms, 5 custom AI templates.
- No export. "Export transcripts" is listed under Pro's "Everything in Free, plus."
- No video of web meetings. "Record web meeting video" is a Business feature.
- After you cancel a paid plan, Notta's FAQ says you can "only view the first 3 minutes of the transcript as a Free user."
For a 30-minute meeting, the Free plan gives you a 3-minute transcript. It's a way to see the interface, not a way to take notes.
Do it with Scribbl: the whole meeting, free
Scribbl is an AI note taker for Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and we make it. There's no 3-minute cap: the free plan transcribes the whole meeting, with no limit on meeting length.
- Add Scribbl. The Chrome extension for Google Meet, or Scribbl Desktop for Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows for Zoom and Teams. You don't need to be the host.
- Join the meeting as usual. Nothing joins the call.
- Open the notes when it ends. The video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items are in your Scribbl account, for the whole meeting.
The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month and no limit on meeting length. Start free.
Notta Pro: $8.17 or $13.49 a month, 1 seat
Pro is "For professionals who want more minutes and features," marked "Recommend." It's $8.17 a month billed annually, shown as "Total $97.99 · Billed annually," or $13.49 billed monthly, for 1 seat. Over Free it gives you 1,800 transcription minutes a month (30 hours), up to 5 hours per recording, 100 uploads and 100 AI summaries a month, 200 custom vocabulary terms, transcript export, transcript translation and custom vocabulary. Pro is a one-seat plan, so a team needs Business.
Notta Business: $16.67 or $27.99 per seat per month
Business is "For teams that need collaboration and administration features." It's $16.67 per seat per month billed annually ("Total $199.99 · billed annually") or $27.99 monthly, with a seat picker. Over Pro it adds unlimited transcription, 200 uploads and 200 AI summaries a month, 1,000 vocabulary terms, unlimited custom AI templates, recording the video of web meetings, advanced data security controls, a usage report, and CRM and Zapier integration. Business is the first Notta plan with the video of your meetings.
Notta Enterprise
Enterprise is "For organizations looking for advanced security, control, and support," custom priced, "Starting from 51 seats." It adds customized transcription, unlimited uploads and AI summaries, SAML SSO, full data access control, audit logs, flexible payments (Notta's FAQ says bank transfer is accepted for Enterprise orders) and priority support.
Notta add-ons
Three add-ons are "Available exclusively to Pro, Business, and Enterprise plan users":
- Monolingual Translation: $6 a month billed annually ($72 a year), or $10 monthly. Up to 100 uses per account a month on Pro and Business; unlimited on Enterprise.

Every plan also includes up to 4 free bilingual uses and 2 free real-time translation uses a month.
What Notta costs for 1, 5 and 10 people

Against Notta Business, the first Notta plan with video, Scribbl Pro is $439.90 a year less for 10 people.
How Notta billing, cancelling and trials work
From the FAQ on Notta's pricing page, as of October 19, 2026:
- Payment. Credit or debit cards (American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, JCB) on the website, or in-app purchases through Apple or Google. Bank transfer for Enterprise.
- Trial. "Get a 7-day Business trial." The pricing page doesn't say whether a card is required.
- Education discount. 50% off Pro for students and educators who sign up with a school email.
- Changing plans. Monthly to annual switches directly in Billing. Pro to Business, or annual to monthly, means cancelling and subscribing again; the current plan runs until its renewal date.
- Cancelling. Profile picture › Billing › Cancel Subscription. You keep paid features until the end of the period. App store subscriptions are cancelled in the App Store or Google Play.
- After you cancel. Transcripts are kept, but you can only view the first 3 minutes of each as a Free user; Notta suggests exporting first.
- Refunds. The pricing page says nothing about refunds.
How Notta records your meetings
Notta's features page lists two ways to record an online meeting: an online meeting recorder that records "via a bot that joins your call," and a bot-free meeting recorder that records on your device, with "no bot joins" in the description. The bot-free recorder is Notta Desktop, for macOS 13 or later (Apple silicon recommended) and Windows 10 or later, which captures system audio and your microphone (bot-free meeting recording). The pricing page doesn't say which plans use which; the 3-minute and 120-minute limits apply either way on Free, and the video of a web meeting needs Business.
Whichever tool you use, tell everyone you're recording; some places require everyone's consent (do you have to tell people you're recording).
Notta vs Scribbl: the better pick
Scribbl is the better pick for most people pricing Notta. Nothing joins the call: a Chrome extension for Google Meet, and Scribbl Desktop for Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows for Zoom and Teams. Every meeting comes back with the video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items, on the free plan, with no 3-minute cap and no monthly minutes to count.
| Feature | Scribbl (our pick) | Notta |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 10 meetings a month, no length limit | 120 minutes a month, 3 minutes per conversation, 10 AI summaries |
| Does anything join the call? | No, on Google Meet, Zoom and Teams | A bot, or Notta Desktop with no bot |
| Video of the meeting | Every meeting, free plan included | Business only, $16.67 per seat billed annually |
| Transcript with speaker names | Yes | Yes |
| AI notes and action items | Every meeting | 10 summaries a month on Free, 100 on Pro, 200 on Business |
| Ask questions about your meetings | Claude or ChatGPT across every meeting, or one Smart Collection (Pro) | Notta Brain, paid in AI credits |
| Follow-up after the call | Automations draft the email, log notes in HubSpot or Pipedrive, post to Slack or Teams | CRM and Zapier on Business |
| Paid plan for a team | Pro, $13 per user billed annually, or $20 monthly | Business, $16.67 per seat billed annually, or $27.99 monthly |
Scribbl keeps working after the call. Smart Collections sort meetings by themselves. Automations do the follow-up: draft the email, log notes in HubSpot or Pipedrive, post to Slack or Teams, save to Notion, Google Drive or Confluence, or open Linear, Jira, Asana or Monday tickets, and they ask before changing anything by default. On Pro, connect Scribbl to Claude or ChatGPT and ask about every meeting. Recordings are private by default, and Scribbl doesn't use your meetings to train AI for anyone other than you. More: the best free transcription software.
The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month. Pro is $13 per user per month billed annually, or $20 monthly.
