Does a bot join my meeting?
On Google Meet, no. Scribbl records from inside your browser tab, so nothing appears in the participant list and there's nothing for your guests to wonder about.

Which platforms does it work on?
Google Meet is covered by the Chrome extension on every plan, including free. Zoom and Microsoft Teams are covered by the Scribbl desktop app, which is free for 7 days from your first recorded meeting and then included with any paid plan.
