The short answer
Facts from each company's own docs and pricing page, and from Anthropic's and OpenAI's help pages, checked October 28, 2026
The best MCP connections for work give Claude or ChatGPT the context your job lives in: your meetings, your email, your docs and your projects. Start with Scribbl for meetings, then add the tools you already use.
- Meetings
- Scribbl (we make it). Claude or ChatGPT can search every meeting you've recorded on Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with nothing joining the call. On Scribbl Pro.
- Email and calendar
- alfred_ for client email across up to 6 inboxes, Google's Gmail and Calendar, or Microsoft 365.
- Docs and files
- Notion, Google Drive, Box or Fast.io.
- Chat and projects
- Slack, then Linear, Asana, Jira and Confluence, monday.com or ClickUp.
- Everything else
- HubSpot, Intercom, Airtable, Stripe, Canva, Figma, GitHub, and Zapier for the apps with no connection of their own.
An MCP gives Claude or ChatGPT a way into one of your work apps. Once it's connected, you can ask the AI about your meetings, your inbox or your projects, and it answers from the real thing instead of what you paste in. The catch is that there are now more than a thousand of them. Claude's connector directory alone lists 1,035.
This list is the 22 we'd actually set up for work, grouped by job. For each one: what it lets Claude or ChatGPT do, where it works, and whether the app behind it needs a paid plan, all from each company's own docs and pricing page on October 28, 2026. We make Scribbl, the AI note taker, and it's our pick for meetings. It's first because meetings are where most of the context for your work is said out loud and never written down.

"Yes" for ChatGPT means the company says its connection works there. How you add it, and on which ChatGPT plan, depends on the app and changed on October 27; see which plans can use MCP.
1. Scribbl: your meetings in Claude and ChatGPT
Most of what happens at work is said in meetings and never written down: what the client actually asked for, the objection that keeps coming up, what you promised to send. Scribbl is an AI note taker for Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and nothing joins the call. Every meeting comes back with the video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items. On Scribbl Pro, you connect it to Claude or ChatGPT once, and the AI can search every meeting you've recorded and read the parts it needs.
That's the difference between pasting a transcript and connecting your meetings. Pasting gives the AI one call, and you have to know which call to find first. Connected, a question can reach across months:
- "What did Acme say about pricing in our last three calls?"
- "Draft the follow-up from this morning's renewal call."
- "What objections came up most across this month's sales calls?"
- "Catch me up on this account before my call at 2."
The answer comes from what was actually said. Scribbl's connection gives Claude and ChatGPT two abilities, searching your meetings and reading one, and neither changes anything in Scribbl. It reaches the meetings you recorded and the ones someone shared with you. With Smart Collections, you can also point a question at one group of meetings, like every demo call this quarter.
How to connect it. Copy your connector link from Scribbl's settings, then add it in Claude as a custom connector, or in ChatGPT as a custom MCP server. Sign in with Google when it asks. It takes about a minute (step by step).
What it costs. The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month. The Claude and ChatGPT connection is on Pro, at $13 per user per month billed annually, or $20 monthly (pricing). On the Claude side, custom connectors work on every Claude plan. On the ChatGPT side, OpenAI now lists custom MCP connections for Business and Enterprise/Edu, and for Pro with read and fetch permissions, which covers Scribbl because it only searches and reads.
Email and calendar
2. alfred_: client email and calendar, across inboxes
alfred_ watches your email and calendar and keeps the requests waiting on you in one list. Its MCP is one address (get-alfred.ai/api/mcp) with a single browser sign-in, and it reaches up to 6 inboxes at once: Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo and any IMAP mailbox. Claude or ChatGPT can search your mail, read threads, check your schedule and find free time; sending, replying, inbox rules and booking events are separate permissions you grant, nothing is sent without your approval, and it can't delete anything. It works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, VS Code and Grok. There's no free plan: every plan has a 7-day trial, and Starter is $29.99 a month ($25 billed annually).
Pair it with Scribbl and Claude has both halves of a client relationship: what was said in the meeting, and what's waiting in the inbox.
3. Gmail and Google Calendar
Google's own connections let Claude search and read email, draft and send replies, view events, find free time and create or change events. Claude's directory lists them as made by Google, added in March 2026, and Claude asks for your approval before sending, sharing or deleting. ChatGPT has its own Gmail and Google Calendar apps. Google Workspace starts at $7 per user per month; personal Google accounts work too.
4. Microsoft 365
For work in Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams. In Claude it's on every plan, made by Anthropic, and it searches your files, email and Teams chats; writing (sending mail, creating events and files) only works if your admin turns it on. It needs a work or school Microsoft account, and a Microsoft admin has to approve it. ChatGPT has separate SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook email and calendar apps.
Docs and files
5. Notion
Notion MCP lets Claude search, read, create and update pages and databases, in real time. ChatGPT's Notion app searches and reads pages. Notion's free plan works; Plus is $10 per member a month.
6. Google Drive
Search, read and upload files from Drive. In Claude's directory (made by Google) and as a ChatGPT app.
7. Box
Search and read files, ask questions across documents, create or update content and pull out metadata. Box says its MCP server is on all Box plans, but you can only use the tools your plan includes, and the AI tools need a Box AI plan. Individual is free with 10 GB; Business is $15 per user a month billed annually, 3 users minimum.
8. Fast.io
Fast.io is a workspace where teams and their AI agents share files. Its hosted MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants search, read and write the files, workspaces and shares in your account, with nothing to install. It's built for projects where several agents and people work from the same files. There's no free plan: each plan has a 14-day trial, and Starter is $99 a year for 3 seats.
Chat, projects and tasks
9. Slack
Search messages, channels, threads and files, read canvases, and send or schedule messages. Slack's own MCP server is in Claude's directory; in ChatGPT, it's OpenAI's Slack app, which searches messages and channels and can take some actions where an admin allows. Slack's free plan works; Pro is $7.25 per user a month billed annually.
10. Linear
Find, create and update issues, projects and comments, with a separate read-only address if you want one. MCP access is on all four Linear plans, including Free. In ChatGPT, Linear's connector is read only and works in deep research.
11. Asana
More than 30 tools for searching, creating, updating and tracking tasks, projects and goals. Works in Claude and as Asana's app in ChatGPT. Personal is free for up to 2 users.
12. Jira and Confluence (Atlassian)
Atlassian's Rovo MCP Server searches, summarizes, creates and updates Jira work items and Confluence pages. It isn't on Atlassian's free plan: you need Standard or above ($8.48 per user a month on Jira), and calls use Rovo credits.
13. monday.com
Search boards, create and update items, change statuses, build dashboards and create docs. monday says MCP is on all plans at no extra cost.
14. ClickUp
Create, update and search tasks and Docs, track time, and post in comments and chat. On all plans, with a daily limit shared by the whole workspace: 100 calls a day on Free Forever, up to 5,000 on Enterprise.
Sales, support and data
15. HubSpot
Search and update contacts, companies, deals and tickets, and look at campaign performance. HubSpot says it's available on all plans, including the free CRM for up to 2 users; some features need a paid subscription. Pair it with Scribbl and you can ask Claude to check a deal in HubSpot against what the client said on the last call.
16. Intercom
Read conversations, contacts and companies, write Help Center articles and add internal notes; it can't send replies customers see. Claude's directory connection is for US-hosted workspaces. No free plan; Essential starts at $29 per seat a month.
17. Airtable
Ask questions of your bases, create and update records, create bases and draft automations. On all Airtable plans, including Free.
18. Stripe
Read and write Stripe data, such as customers, invoices, subscriptions and payment links, and search Stripe's docs. Refunds and payouts ask for a person to confirm. No monthly fee; Stripe charges per transaction.
Design, code and everything else
19. Canva
Create, edit, resize and export designs, in Claude and in ChatGPT, on every Canva plan including Free. Brand templates need a paid plan.
20. Figma
In Claude, Figma pulls design context from your files into code and diagrams. In ChatGPT, it only creates FigJam diagrams and Figma Slides, and not in the EU. Figma's free Starter plan allows 20 MCP calls a month.
21. GitHub
Claude's built-in GitHub integration adds repository files to a chat on every plan, including Free. ChatGPT's GitHub app pulls in repository content you allow.
22. Zapier
Zapier MCP covers the apps with no connection of their own: Claude or ChatGPT can run actions in thousands of apps through it. It's on every Zapier plan, but each call uses two tasks, and the free plan has 100 tasks a month.
Which Claude and ChatGPT plans can use MCP
Claude. Anthropic lists custom connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. Free users can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner adds custom connectors, and directory connectors have to be turned on for the organization first (Anthropic).
ChatGPT. OpenAI changed this on October 27, 2026. Its help page now says custom MCP connections with full support are for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise/Edu, on ChatGPT web, and that Pro users can connect custom MCP servers with read and fetch permissions. Plus isn't listed, and custom connections don't work on mobile (OpenAI). Apps in ChatGPT's own directory, now called Plugins, can have different rules, and OpenAI says availability depends on the app, your plan, workspace and region.
If you have both, Claude is the easier of the two for adding connections today: every plan can add one, and you don't need a workspace admin unless you're on Team or Enterprise.
How to pick
- Start where your context lives. For most people that's meetings, email and docs. Connect Scribbl, your email and your main doc tool first; those three answer most "catch me up" questions.
- Prefer read-only where you can. A connection that can only search and read can't send the wrong email or close the wrong ticket. Turn on write actions one at a time, for the jobs you actually want the AI to do.
- Check the app's plan, not just the AI's. Jira and Confluence, Figma and ClickUp all limit MCP on their free plans.
- Keep the list short. Every connection is another place the AI can look and another account it can reach. Five you use beat twenty you don't.
- Learn what to ask. A connection only helps if you know how to ask for the work. If you run a small business and you're new to this, Jen Lehner's Front Row AI Club teaches how to get useful work out of ChatGPT and other AI tools.
