AI Note Takers That Work With Claude and ChatGPT (2026)
AI note takers that work with Claude and ChatGPT in 2026: Scribbl, Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, tl;dv, Read AI and Granola. How each connects, plan, bot.
Updated October 19, 2026
The AI note takers that work with both Claude and ChatGPT in 2026 are Scribbl, Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, tl;dv, Read AI and Granola, and our pick is Scribbl, which we make: nothing joins the call on Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams, and on Scribbl Pro you connect it to Claude or ChatGPT once and ask about every past meeting. The others connect too, but Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, tl;dv and Read AI each record with a bot in the call in at least some setups, and Granola keeps no audio or video of the meeting.
Below is every tool side by side: whether it works with Claude, whether it works with ChatGPT, how it connects, which plan you need, and what joins the call. Every fact about another company comes from that company's own page, checked on October 19, 2026, and is linked next to the fact and in Sources. We make Scribbl, and it's first in the table so you can see where it wins.
Start free: nothing joins the call, you don't need to be the host, and the free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month. The Claude and ChatGPT connection is on Pro.
Which AI note takers work with Claude and ChatGPT?
Scribbl, Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, tl;dv, Read AI and Granola all work with both Claude and ChatGPT, as of October 19, 2026. Most of them connect the same way under the hood: the note taker runs a server that Claude or ChatGPT signs in to (the technical name is an MCP server), and from then on the AI can search your meetings. What differs is how you add it, which plan you need, and what sits in your call while it records.
| Note taker | Claude | ChatGPT | How it connects (from the company's own page) | Plan you need on the note taker | What joins the call |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scribbl (we make it) | Yes | Yes | One link from your Scribbl settings, added as a connector in Claude, or in ChatGPT with developer mode on | Pro: $13 ($20 monthly) | Nothing, on Google Meet, Zoom and Teams |
| Otter | Yes | Yes | ChatGPT app (Otter); Claude through Otter's MCP server (Otter) | Basic (free) and up (pricing) | Otter's notetaker joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet |
| Fireflies | Yes | Yes | Claude connector directory; in ChatGPT you add it as a connector with Fireflies' server link (Fireflies) | Not stated on its pricing or MCP pages | "Fireflies.ai Notetaker" joins as a participant |
| Fathom | Yes | Yes | Fathom connector for Claude (docs); Fathom app in ChatGPT (docs) | Every plan, including Free (pricing) | Fathom's bot, or bot-free capture still being tested, by Fathom's own description |
| tl;dv | Yes | Yes | Search for tl;dv in Claude's or ChatGPT's connectors and connect (tl;dv help) | Pro and up: $18 ($29 monthly) | A bot, when you record with its Chrome extension |
| Read AI | Yes | Yes | Claude connector and ChatGPT app (pricing page) | All Read AI users, per Read AI | Read Assistant joins Zoom and Teams when turned on; a Google Meet add-on |
| Granola | Yes | Yes | Search for Granola in Claude's or ChatGPT's settings (Granola help) | Every plan; Basic (free) reaches the last 30 days of notes, transcripts need a paid plan | Nothing, but no audio or video is kept |
Prices are per user per month in US dollars, billed annually unless noted, from each official pricing page on October 19, 2026. "What joins the call" comes from each company's own help or pricing page, linked in Sources.
Three things in this table decide most choices:
- What sits in your call. A bot in the participant list is the first thing a client notices. Otter's notetaker joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet (Otter pricing). Fireflies joins as "Fireflies.ai Notetaker" and stays in the participant list (Fireflies FAQ). Fathom's pricing page offers "Choice of bot-free capture, which Fathom's pricing page marks as not finished or bot capture" (Fathom pricing). With tl;dv's Chrome extension, "a bot joins your calls automatically" (tl;dv). Read AI's assistant joins Zoom and Teams once you set it to (Read AI). Scribbl puts nothing in the call on all three meeting apps.
- What Claude or ChatGPT can reach. The connection is only as good as what the note taker kept. Granola "does not record or save audio or video at any point during the call" (Granola help), and on its free Basic plan the connection reaches personal notes from the last 30 days, with transcripts only on paid plans (Granola help). Otter's free Basic plan has 300 transcription minutes a month and a 30-minute limit per conversation (Otter pricing). With Scribbl, Claude and ChatGPT can search the transcript and notes of every meeting you've recorded and every meeting shared with you, and you keep the video next to them in Scribbl.
- One account for every meeting app. Scribbl covers Google Meet with a Chrome extension and Zoom and Microsoft Teams with Scribbl Desktop for Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows, so Claude or ChatGPT can answer across all of your calls, whatever app they were on.
Scribbl
Scribbl is an AI note taker for Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and nothing joins the call. After each meeting you get the video recording, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items. On Pro, you copy one link from your Scribbl settings, paste it into Claude or ChatGPT, and the AI can search your meetings and read any one of them. You can point it at everything, or at the meetings in one Smart Collection, the groups Scribbl sorts your meetings into by themselves, such as your sales calls. The connector is read-only: it searches and reads, and writes nothing back to Scribbl (how it works).
Otter
Otter says it's an approved connector in ChatGPT's App Store, which you find in the Apps panel and sign in to with your Otter account (Otter, April 28, 2026), and that it works with Claude through its MCP server (Otter, March 13, 2026). Its pricing page lists "Otter MCP server" on the free Basic plan, which has 300 transcription minutes a month, a 30-minute limit per conversation, and AI Chat limited to 20 queries per user (Otter pricing). Otter's notetaker joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet to write the notes.
Fireflies
Fireflies has been in Anthropic's connector directory since August 21, 2025. Fireflies lists "a paid Claude plan (Pro, Team, or Enterprise)", and on Claude's Team and Enterprise plans an owner enables it for the organization first (Fireflies blog). For ChatGPT, you create a connector yourself with Fireflies' server link on ChatGPT Plus, Team or Enterprise (Fireflies help). Neither page says which Fireflies plan you need. Fireflies records with "Fireflies.ai Notetaker", a bot that joins as a participant, and video recording needs its Business plan or higher (Fireflies FAQ).
Fathom
Fathom has a connector for Claude and an app in ChatGPT; you click Connect and approve the sign-in. On Claude's team or organization plans, "an owner must first enable the connector" (Fathom developer docs). Its pricing page lists "Claude & ChatGPT Integrations" on every plan, including Free (Fathom pricing). Fathom records with its bot, or with bot-free capture that its pricing page marks as test.
tl;dv
tl;dv appears in both Claude's and ChatGPT's connector lists: you search for it, click Install, then Connect. It needs tl;dv Pro or higher, plus Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise, or ChatGPT Plus, Team or Enterprise (tl;dv help, updated June 8, 2026). tl;dv Pro is $18 per seat per month billed annually, or $29 monthly (tl;dv pricing). Its Chrome extension records with a bot that joins your calls.
Read AI
Read AI's pricing page says it's "now available as Claude Connector, ChatGPT App, and MCP Server" (Read AI pricing). Read AI says the ChatGPT connection is "available to all Read AI users with a paid ChatGPT subscription", and in a workspace an admin has to turn on Downloads first (Read AI, May 12, 2026). Read Assistant joins Zoom and Teams meetings when you set it to join; on Google Meet, Read AI runs as an add-on (Read AI).
Granola
You connect Granola by searching for it in Claude's or ChatGPT's settings (Granola help). On the free Basic plan, the connection reaches your personal notes from the last 30 days, and the transcript tool is for paid plans only. Granola's pricing page lists MCP on every plan, with Business at $14 per user per month (Granola pricing). On Enterprise, MCP is off until an admin turns it on. Granola has no bot, but it "does not record or save audio or video", so there's no recording to check an answer against.
Do it with Scribbl
Nothing joins the call, every meeting is kept with its video, and on Pro Claude or ChatGPT can search all of them. Three steps:
- 1
Add Scribbl
Add the Chrome extension for Google Meet, or install Scribbl Desktop on your Mac (Apple silicon) or Windows computer for Zoom and Teams.
- 2
Join the meeting as usual
Nothing joins the call, and you don't need to be the host. Tell everyone you're recording at the start.
- 3
Open the notes when the meeting ends
The video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items are on one page. On Pro, connect Claude or ChatGPT once and ask about every meeting.
Every meeting gets the video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items. The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month. Start free, then connect Claude or ChatGPT on Pro.
What you can ask Claude or ChatGPT about your meetings
Once a note taker is connected, you ask in plain words and Claude or ChatGPT finds the right meetings by itself. You ask about an account, not about a file. These work with Scribbl connected:
- "What did Acme say about pricing in our last three calls?"
- "Draft the follow-up from yesterday's renewal call."
- "What objections came up most across this month's sales calls?"
- "Catch me up on this account before my call at 2."
This is different from pasting a transcript into a chat. Pasting gives the AI one meeting and uses up the conversation, and you have to know which meeting to go and find first. Connected, it searches everything you've recorded and pulls only the parts it needs, so one question can reach across months of calls. To narrow it, point it at one Smart Collection, such as "What were the main objections in my sales calls this week?"
If you're not on Pro yet, you can still copy a meeting's transcript from Scribbl into Claude or ChatGPT on any plan. See Claude meeting notes and ChatGPT meeting notes for prompts that turn one transcript into minutes, action items or a follow-up email.
How to connect Scribbl to Claude or ChatGPT
Setup takes one link and about a minute. You need Scribbl Pro and a Claude or ChatGPT account that can add custom connectors.
- 1
Copy your connection link
One link, from your Scribbl settings. It is tied to your account.
- 2
Paste it into Claude or ChatGPT
In Claude, add it as a custom connector. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode first. Sign in with Google when it asks.
- 3
Ask about your meetings
From then on your meetings are something it can read.
In Claude, step by step (Anthropic's custom connectors page has the same steps):
- Copy your connection link from your Scribbl settings.
- Open Customize, then Connectors. Click + Add, then add a custom connector.
- Name it (for example, "Scribbl"), paste the link as the remote MCP server URL, and continue.
- Click Add, and sign in with Google when Scribbl asks.
- Turn it on in a chat. Click + in the chat box, then Connectors, and switch Scribbl on.
- Ask about your meetings.
On Claude's Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector for the organization first, then each person connects their own Scribbl account.
In ChatGPT, connecting Scribbl needs a paid ChatGPT plan such as Plus, Business or Enterprise, with developer mode turned on. Developer mode turns off memory for that chat. Claude is the smoother of the two today, so if you have both, start with Claude (Scribbl connector page).
What it costs. The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month. The Claude and ChatGPT connection is on Pro, at $13 per user per month billed annually, or $20 monthly (pricing). Pro also includes Automations, which do the follow-up when a meeting lands in a Smart Collection, such as drafting the follow-up email or posting a summary to Slack, and ask before they change anything by default.
Privacy: what Claude and ChatGPT can see
Connecting a note taker gives Claude or ChatGPT access to what was said in your meetings, so check what each connection can reach before you add it.
- Scribbl. The connector has two abilities, searching your meetings and reading one, and neither writes anything back to Scribbl. It sees the meetings you own and the meetings someone has shared with you, nothing else, and nothing belonging to a colleague who hasn't shared with you. Treat the connection like any other account access: only add it in a Claude or ChatGPT account you control, and disconnect it if you stop using it (Scribbl connector page). Recordings are private by default, and Scribbl doesn't use your meetings to train AI for anyone other than you.
- Claude. Anthropic says custom connectors can link Claude to services that "haven't been verified by Anthropic", and once connected Claude can access them and take actions in them, so only connect servers you trust (Anthropic).
- Fireflies. Fireflies says data sent through connectors such as ChatGPT or Claude is governed by those platforms' terms, and its Zero-Day Retention policy doesn't apply to it (Fireflies blog).
- Fathom. The connection "can only access meetings you already have permission to view in Fathom" (Fathom help).
- Read AI. Read AI says its connectors respect existing permissions, and that with the OpenAI connector, Read AI data isn't used to train OpenAI's models by default (Read AI).
Whichever note taker you use, tell everyone in the meeting that you're recording. Some places require everyone's consent; see do you have to tell people you're recording.
The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month. Start free, and nothing joins your next call.
FAQ
Which AI note takers work with Claude and ChatGPT?
Scribbl, Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, tl;dv, Read AI and Granola all connect to both Claude and ChatGPT, as of October 19, 2026. Scribbl, which makes this page, connects on Pro with one link, and nothing joins the call on Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, tl;dv and Read AI each record with a bot in the call in at least some setups. Granola has no bot but keeps no audio or video, and its free plan reaches only the last 30 days of notes.
What is the best AI note taker to use with Claude and ChatGPT?
Scribbl, which makes this page. Nothing joins the call on Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams, every meeting comes back with the video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items, and on Scribbl Pro you connect it to Claude or ChatGPT once and ask about every past meeting, or only the meetings in one Smart Collection. Pro is $13 per user per month billed annually, or $20 monthly.
Which AI note taker connects to Claude without a bot in the call?
Scribbl, which makes this page: a Chrome extension for Google Meet and Scribbl Desktop for Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows for Zoom and Teams, with nothing joining the call, and Claude can search every meeting on Scribbl Pro. Granola also has no bot, but it doesn't record or save audio or video, so there's no recording to go back to.
Do I need a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan to connect a note taker?
It depends on the app and the note taker. Anthropic lists custom connectors on Claude's Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and Free users can add one custom connector. Fireflies and tl;dv list a paid Claude plan for their connectors. For ChatGPT, connecting Scribbl needs a paid plan such as Plus, Business or Enterprise, with developer mode turned on, and Read AI says its ChatGPT app is for users with a paid ChatGPT subscription.
What can I ask Claude or ChatGPT about my meetings?
Anything that was said. For example: what did Acme say about pricing in our last three calls, draft the follow-up from yesterday's renewal call, what objections came up most across this month's sales calls, or catch me up on this account before my call at 2. Connected to Scribbl, Claude or ChatGPT searches your meetings and reads only the parts it needs.
Can Claude or ChatGPT change anything in Scribbl?
No. Scribbl's connector gives Claude and ChatGPT two abilities, searching your meetings and reading one, and neither writes anything back to Scribbl. It can see the meetings you own and the meetings someone has shared with you. Treat the connection like any other account access: only add it in a Claude or ChatGPT account you control, and disconnect it if you stop using it.
Is it safe to connect a meeting note taker to Claude or ChatGPT?
Treat it like giving any app access to your meetings. Anthropic says custom connectors can link Claude to services it hasn't verified, and once connected Claude can access them and take actions in them, so only connect tools you trust. Fireflies says its Zero-Day Retention doesn't apply to data sent through connectors to ChatGPT or Claude. On Scribbl, recordings are private by default, and Scribbl doesn't use your meetings to train AI for anyone other than you.
Which Scribbl plan connects to Claude and ChatGPT?
Scribbl Pro, at $13 per user per month billed annually or $20 monthly. The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month, and you can copy any meeting's transcript into Claude or ChatGPT on any plan. On Pro, the connector lets Claude or ChatGPT search every meeting without any copying. Start free: nothing joins the call, and you don't need to be the host.
