Is MeetGeek free? What the Basic plan really includes

MeetGeek's Basic card says "Ideal for occasional meetings. Free forever." and lists 3 hours of transcription a month, 3 months of transcript storage and 1 month of audio storage. It includes recording of Zoom, Google Meet, Teams "and more" through the mobile app, Chrome extension and desktop app, bot and bot-free recording, uploads, transcription in 100+ languages, meeting analytics, "AI summary for every meeting," AI chat and search, folders and tags, and API and MCP access. The comparison table adds the limits:

  • 3 hours a month of transcribed minutes, and 2 hours per meeting. Six 30-minute meetings a month, or three hour-long ones.
  • Transcripts kept 3 months, audio 1 month. An hour-long call from six weeks ago has its transcript but no audio.
  • No video. The "Video storage" row shows nothing for Basic and Pro; video storage starts on Business at 12 months, and "HD video recording" is a Business feature.
  • No downloads. "Download assets" and "Download transcripts" are marked off for Basic; Pro adds "Downloads and exports."
  • AI chat is listed with no stated cap on Basic.

Basic is fine for an occasional meeting. Anyone with a weekly customer call and a weekly team meeting is past 3 hours before the month is half over.

Do it with Scribbl: no hour cap and the video, free

Scribbl is an AI note taker for Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and we make it. The free plan counts meetings, not hours, with no limit on meeting length, and the video comes with every one.

  1. Add Scribbl. The Chrome extension for Google Meet, or Scribbl Desktop for Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows for Zoom and Teams. You don't need to be the host.
  2. Join the meeting as usual. Nothing joins the call.
  3. Open the notes when it ends. The video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items are in your Scribbl account.

The free plan includes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with 10 meetings a month and no limit on meeting length. Start free.

MeetGeek Pro: $9.99 or $15.99 per user per month

Pro is "Automate the follow-up work after every meeting," at $9.99 per user per month billed yearly ($119.88 a year) or $15.99 monthly. It gives you 20 hours of transcription a month, with "$0.50 per extra hour," transcripts kept 1 year and audio 6 months. Over Basic it adds AI workflows, AI chat with tools, Zapier, Make and n8n, unlimited integrations, meeting templates, automatic meeting type detection, personal aggregated analytics, flexible sharing, downloads and exports, and admin user management. Meetings are still capped at 2 hours, and there's still no video.

MeetGeek Business: $17 or $27 per user per month

Business, "MOST POPULAR," is "Give your whole team one shared meeting memory," at $17 per user per month billed yearly ($204 a year) or $27 monthly. It's the first plan with unlimited transcription, HD video recording and video storage (12 months), plus 3-hour meetings, team and group spaces, automatic sharing, comments, team analytics, unlimited AI chat with tools and AI workflows, private meetings by default, rules to skip meetings you don't want recorded, recording consent notifications, and custom branding and summaries. The card reads "Start 14-days trial."

MeetGeek Enterprise

Enterprise is custom priced, "Run meeting intelligence across the org, with full control." It adds 4-hour meetings, custom video storage, SSO and SCIM, org-wide settings and locks, zero or custom data retention, on-premise storage options, custom avatars, early access to new AI models, roadmap access, dedicated onboarding and an account manager.

What MeetGeek costs for 1, 5 and 10 people

MeetGeek's subscription calculator says "Unlimited free basic licenses included," so a team can mix free Basic users with paid Pro or Business licenses. These totals multiply the per-user price out, before any extra hours on Pro.

WhoPlan and billingPer monthPer year
1 personPro, yearly$9.99$119.88
1 personPro, monthly$15.99$191.88
1 personBusiness, yearly$17$204
1 personBusiness, monthly$27$324
5 peoplePro, yearly$49.95$599.40
5 peopleBusiness, yearly$85$1,020
10 peoplePro, yearly$99.90$1,198.80
10 peopleBusiness, yearly$170$2,040

Two things decide your row: the hours (Pro's 20 a month cost $0.50 each past that; Business has no cap) and the video (Business only). For comparison, Scribbl Pro is $13 per user per month billed annually, or $20 monthly (Scribbl pricing): $156 a year for one person, $780 for 5 and $1,560 for 10, with unlimited meetings, the video of each one, and nothing joining the call. Against MeetGeek Business, the first MeetGeek plan with video, Scribbl Pro is $480 a year less for 10 people.

How MeetGeek billing, trials and discounts work

From MeetGeek's pricing page and support center, as of October 19, 2026:

  • Trial. 14 days of Business. No trial is listed for Pro.
  • Extra hours. Pro charges $0.50 per hour of transcription past 20 a month.
  • Licenses. Admins add, remove or reassign subscriptions from the web dashboard, and free Basic users can still be part of teams (Choosing Subscriptions & Team Plans, August 10, 2026).
  • Upgrading. In the Subscription section, click Manage/Upgrade, pick a plan and confirm. MeetGeek emails a consolidated invoice for each payment (Manage Plans & Subscriptions, August 11, 2026).
  • Cancelling and refunds. Neither the pricing page nor the two billing articles state a cancellation or refund policy; the support article points you to MeetGeek's chat or email.
  • Discounts. 30% off for startups, non-profits and education, on request. MeetGeek's FAQ warns that promo codes on third-party discount sites are fake.

How MeetGeek joins your meetings

Every plan lists "Bot & bot-free recording." The bot "works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams," and MeetGeek's FAQ says it "will automatically join, record, transcribe, and take notes of your meetings" once connected to your calendar. The no-bot option records "without a bot using Chrome Extension or Desktop Recorder." Business adds "One Bot Per Meeting," which stops several company bots joining the same call, and rules to skip meetings you don't want recorded.

Whichever tool you use, tell everyone you're recording; some places require everyone's consent (do you have to tell people you're recording).

MeetGeek vs Scribbl: the better pick

Scribbl is the better pick for most people pricing MeetGeek. Nothing joins the call: a Chrome extension for Google Meet, and Scribbl Desktop for Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows for Zoom and Teams. Every meeting comes back with the video, a transcript with speaker names, AI notes and action items, on the free plan, with no hour cap and no 2-hour meeting limit.

Free plan 10 meetings a month, no length limit 3 hours a month, 2 hours per meeting

Scribbl's sample meeting Atlas launch planning in the Scribbl web app: a summary with five bullet points, a card for 5 action items, the Notes, Transcript, Action items and AI Chat tabs, the meeting video player and a timeline of how long each of the two speakers talked
A meeting in the Scribbl web app (Scribbl's sample meeting, Atlas launch planning): the summary and action items on the left, the meeting video and a timeline of who spoke when on the right.

Scribbl keeps working after the call. Smart Collections sort meetings by themselves. Automations do the follow-up: draft the email, log notes in HubSpot or Pipedrive, post to Slack or Teams, save to Notion, Google Drive or Confluence, or open Linear, Jira, Asana or Monday tickets, and they ask before changing anything by default. On Pro, connect Scribbl to Claude or ChatGPT and ask about every meeting. Recordings are private by default, and Scribbl doesn't use your meetings to train AI for anyone other than you.
