Is tl;dv free? What the free plan really includes

tl;dv's Free card lists unlimited video recordings, unlimited transcription in 30+ languages, email and calendar integrations, the mobile app, and two AI limits: "10x meetings with AI notes included" and "10x Ask AI queries included." tl;dv's help center fills in the rest (What are the limits of the Free plan?, dated November 24, 2025, and How long can I record for?):

• AI notes on 10 meetings. Your first 10 meetings get automatic AI notes covering the whole meeting. After that, only the first 10 minutes of each meeting get AI notes.
• The limits never reset. The article says: "These limits are for the lifetime of the account, they do not renew monthly."
• 10 AI prompts and 10 AI reports, plus 20 integration credits for Zapier, HubSpot and Salesloft workflows.
• Recordings kept 3 months. tl;dv notifies you four weeks before deletion so you can download them. After 3 days, free recordings move to archived storage; the transcript and notes stay open, but watching the video means unarchiving, which can take up to an hour and a half.
• 5 uploads and 4 clips, and clips can't be downloaded.
• No simultaneous meetings, and during server surges Pro customers are recorded first.
• 3 hours per recording on every plan.

So the free plan is a recorder with a 10-meeting AI allowance. Once it's gone, you're reading transcripts yourself or paying $18 a seat.

Business, marked "POPULAR," is "For teams looking for meeting insights automation at scale." It's $29 per seat per month billed annually ($348 a year) or $39 monthly, with "No usage-based AI fees." Over Pro it adds advanced transcription and custom vocabulary, unlimited multi-meeting AI insights, scheduled AI reports, AI playbook monitoring and objection handling, team management, and team-wide integrations and automations. It records 3 meetings at once and 120 web recordings a week.

tl;dv Enterprise

Enterprise has no listed price; you "Talk to an expert." It adds organization-wide management, a super admin role, SCIM provisioning, custom SSO, privately hosted AI, activity logs, optional usage-based pricing and a dedicated success manager.

What tl;dv costs for 1, 5 and 10 people

tl;dv's pricing FAQ says any teammate you add to your workspace counts as a seat, but "You only pay for the members of your workspace who are on paid plan," and you can mix free and paid members. These totals multiply the per-seat price out.

For comparison, Scribbl Pro is $13 per user per month billed annually, or $20 monthly (Scribbl pricing): $156 a year for one person, $780 for 5 and $1,560 for 10, with unlimited meetings and nothing joining the call.

How tl;dv billing and cancelling work

From tl;dv's pricing FAQ and help center, as of October 19, 2026:

• Billing cycle. Pro and Business can be paid monthly or yearly (What is tl;dv's pricing?).
• Seats. Buy yourself a seat first, then add licenses for your team. People who only watch recordings can stay on Free (Which team members do I pay for?).
• Trial. "You can try tl;dv's paid features before committing." The length isn't stated.
• Cancelling. Go to Account & Billing, click Manage subscription, and you're sent to Stripe to select Cancel plan (How to cancel my Pro subscription). The help center has no refund article.
• Non-profits and NGOs. Discounts on request through the support chat, with your seat count and cause (discounts).

How tl;dv joins your meetings

tl;dv records through a recorder that joins the meeting as a participant, which is why "Custom bot appearance" is a Pro feature on its pricing page. Everyone in the call can see it. Scribbl records with nothing joining the call. Whichever tool you use, tell everyone you're recording; some places require everyone's consent (do you have to tell people you're recording).
