Who can see my meetings?

Only you, until you share. Recordings are private by default. When someone needs a meeting, you send them a link to the notes, the transcript and the video. Nobody else sees it.

Does Scribbl use my meetings to train AI?

Not for anyone other than you. Scribbl does not use the data from your meetings to train machine learning models or any other software for the benefit of any clients other than you. Your meeting data is unique to your account.

Where is my data stored?

In the United States. The personal information Scribbl collects is transferred, stored and processed in the US, on secure servers behind firewalls. Where data comes from the EEA or the UK, Scribbl puts safeguards in place such as the Standard Contractual Clauses. The privacy policy lists the third parties Scribbl uses to provide the service, such as its payment processor and its cloud platform.

Does a bot join my meetings?

No. On Google Meet, Scribbl works through its Chrome extension. On Zoom and Microsoft Teams, Scribbl Desktop records from your own computer. Nothing appears in the participant list on any of the three.

Do I need to tell people I am recording?

Yes. Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams show their own recording notice only when their own tools record, so none of them shows one for Scribbl. Tell everyone at the start of the meeting that you are recording. Recording laws vary by region, so make sure you have the consent you need from the people in your meetings. A meeting record holds personal information about the other people in the call, so make sure you have the permissions you need before you record.

What does Scribbl Desktop need access to?

Screen and audio recording permission from your operating system, granted once on first run. On a Mac, macOS prompts you for it, and you may need to restart the app afterwards. See Zoom setup or Microsoft Teams setup.

What can Claude or ChatGPT see when I connect Scribbl?

The meetings you own and the meetings someone has shared with you, or only the meetings in one Smart Collection if you choose. Nothing belonging to a colleague who has not shared with you. The connection gives Claude or ChatGPT two abilities, searching your meetings and reading one, and both are read-only, so neither writes anything back into Scribbl. Treat the connection like any other account access: only add it in a Claude or ChatGPT account you control, and disconnect it if you stop using it. More in how to connect ChatGPT or Claude.

How do I delete my data?

Email Scribbl to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided. Scribbl cannot delete your personal information without also deleting your account. The contact details are at the bottom of the privacy policy.
