How do I save meeting notes to Notion?

Make a Smart Collection in Scribbl, add an Automation to it that saves the notes to Notion, and connect your Notion account when Scribbl asks. From then on, every meeting that lands in that collection has its notes saved to Notion, and by default Scribbl asks you to confirm before it writes anything. What do I need?

  • A Scribbl account, on any plan including free
  • A Notion account, and the page or database where the notes should go

Scribbl connects to your Notion account when you set up the automation.

How do I set it up?

  1. In Scribbl, make a Smart Collection. Write one sentence about what belongs in it, like "calls with customers about renewals". Each new meeting that fits goes in by itself.
  2. Add an Automation to that collection and choose Notion as where the notes are saved. Connect your Notion account when Scribbl asks, and pick the place in Notion.
  3. Have your next meeting as usual. When it lands in the collection, Scribbl prepares the notes for Notion and asks you to confirm before it writes anything.

From then on, every meeting that fits the collection gets the same treatment.

What goes into Notion?

The meeting notes: the summary, the decisions and the action items with who owns them. The transcript and the video stay on the meeting page in your Scribbl account, where you can search them and share them by link.

Does it write to Notion without asking me?

Not by default. An automation asks before it changes anything in another tool, so you see what is about to go into Notion and confirm it. That is the default for every Automation, not only Notion.

Is it on the free plan?

Yes. Saving to Notion is an Automation, and the free plan includes 3 Automations runs a month. One run is one automation doing one thing for one meeting, so one meeting saved to Notion is one run. Pro includes 50 runs a month and the Team plan has no limit. A run past the limit waits, then goes out on the 1st of the month or as soon as you upgrade. See plans and limits.

Can I save to Google Drive or Confluence instead?

Yes. The same automation can save the notes to Google Drive, Notion or Confluence. Other Automations draft the follow-up email for you to send, log a note in HubSpot or Pipedrive, post a summary to Slack or Microsoft Teams, open a ticket in Asana, Monday, Linear or Jira, or add a row to a Google Sheet. More in what Scribbl gives you after a meeting.

Does it work for Zoom and Teams meetings too?

Yes. Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings all land in the same Scribbl account, so a Smart Collection and its Automations treat them the same. Which app the call was on does not matter.
